Protect Our Schools KY Launches to Defeat Voucher Amendment

Adam K. Raymond | June 5, 2024

The campaign to protect Kentucky’s public schools from disastrous private school voucher schemes is under way.

On Thursday, the Protect Our Schools KY coalition launched at East Perry Elementary in Hazard, where a teacher, parent, administrator, superintendent and student shared the same message: public money should not be funneled to unaccountable private schools at the expense of the public schools that serve all students and make our communities strong.

More On Education: State Report Shows Educators in Most Kentucky School Districts Received Little or No Raise

Protect Our Schools KY is a group of public education advocates and allied organizations committed to defeating Amendment 2, the voucher amendment, which will appear on the ballot this fall. If successful, the voucher amendment would change Kentucky’s constitution to allow public dollars to go to unaccountable private schools.

Affirm your support for public schools and pledge to vote no on the voucher amendment.
