Statement on the Final Passage of Budget and Tax Plans

Jason Bailey | April 13, 2018

“The General Assembly’s tax bill finalized today is a major tax shift, providing huge breaks for the wealthy and corporations that are paid for by working families. By moving from stronger to weaker revenue sources, the tax bill will make it even harder to fund our many needs in the coming years. The budget the legislature enacted today is also inadequate, containing the 20th round of cuts over the last decade and further undermining the public investments critical to a thriving state. We can, and must, do better.”
